HILL, JAMES BRACEWELL. Private. No 71. 51st Battalion Australian Imperial Forces. Born Marsden. Son of Joseph and Jane Ann Hill of Fern Lea, Marsden. Before leaving Marsden for Australia, he was a member of the firm of Messrs. Joseph Hill and Sons, tailors, Peel Street, Marsden. Was a member of Marsden Liberal Club and continued to pay his subscriptions when he went abroad. Went out to Australia for health reasons in 1908 and worked on a sheep station near Adelaide. Enlisted, 12.4.1916, and arrived in France in September, 1916. Killed in action, 1.4.1918, aged 38 years.
